BIODIVERSITY AND POPULATION DISTRIBUTION OF FRUIT FLY (Diptera: Tephritidae) IN DOMESTIC ORCHARDS OF PARAÍBA STATE, BRAZIL

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to characterize, through faunistic indices, the populations fruit flies in Brejo Paraibano microregion and analyze whether these are similar one another. conducted eight municipalities located Agreste mesoregion microregion, Paraíba state, Brazil, where two rural properties each municipality were selected, georeferenced identified according diversity criterion species. Each assumed have a population with its own characteristics, determined by indices frequency, constancy, dominance, Shannon-Wiener Margalef as well evenness. 3.159 specimens captured, which 85.57% belonged genus Anastrepha 14.43% Ceratitis. 11 species captured traps. fraterculus most frequent, dominant constant species, being present all locations; followed A. obliqua, sororcula Ceratitis capitata. studied similarity 54%, indicates high between areas. Most occur at low frequency.
